During Seminar, volunteers from the Mary Kay Sales Force built a house for Habitat for Humanity on site! They showed live updates during session breaks. How many companies would do this?? Too cool. (The bright light is from the stage. Again, sorry for poor quality!)

Mother's Day Weekend May 7 and 8, 2010

I had a fantastic Mother's Day Weekend. David and I traveled friday to Meridian to the Riley Center for the Arts in Education Conference; went on to Hattiesburg Friday night and ate a steak at the Conestoga Steak House with Lydia and Jared. The only rain in Mississippi Saturday morning was between Hattie and Meridian, so we went to eat breakfast with Lydia at IHOP before heading back to the Riley Center. After the conference ended about 4pm, we came home to Columbus and let Lily out and picked up Kaite for the trip to Tupelo. We went to see All Shook Up at the Tupelo Community Theatre. Marianna's sets were wonderful!

April 2 Good Friday Trip to Tupelo

March 31 New Hope Middle School

Jerry Byrd and David worked together in Kemper County last year; Jerry moved home to New Hope High School where he teaches math and coaches soccer and tennis. David had come to the middle school to give me a hand setting up my new computer.

Marzano Wednesday March 30

All the 6th grade teachers meet in Professional Learning Communities for 2 hours each month. We discuss the Marzano theories of instruction and eat goodies.

March 29 Transportation

Dad working on getting the station wagon operational again; it started after being jumped off, but when Dad tried to start it again, no luck. We are going to take it to check the starting mechanism, and if that is ok, buy a new battery. It's always something, isn't it?

March 28

Kaite and I at Peppers on Saturday for Lunch; it was Jesters' Parent/Daughter Day! This usually happens after Songfest. However, Songfest was pushed back on the calendar and so many of the social clubs had already scheduled their Parent/Daughter events several weeks ago; we did the one for Rogues the weekend before the week before spring break....the weekend Kaite was coming down with the flu.

MARCH 24 Eugenia Summers Gallery Student Art Show

Kaite had these five pieces accepted for the Student Art Show at MUW. She won first for Illustration Wednesday evening! Mom and Dad are so proud of her!
