I have no problem "falling back", however "spring forward" day is always a challenge.

This is Kaite enjoying the purse Lydia gave her for her birthday.

March 13

Lydia sent a birthday present to Kaite via Lyd's friend, Anna Truitt. Anna lives in Hattiesburg and grew up in Columbus; Lyd and Anna not only went to New Hope together but also went to preschool together.

Marianna came in Friday night with two black and tan daschunds that belong to her friend Samantha and husband David.

Lily has made friends with Lucy; however, Anabelle is another story.

March 11

These buttercups came from Myrtle, from Grandma's house. They have always been known as Lydia's flowers since they usually bloomed on or about Lydia's February 21st birthday.

Well, this year they are now Kaite's flowers. They bloomed today, March 11th, Kaite's birthday! David and I no longer have any teenagers; Kaite is officially 20. Wow! We have survived three teenage girls! Thanks, Lord!

The flu, bronchitis and sinus crud is not a pretty sight!

March 8

Monday morning found us in the doctor's office; Kaite had already been to the Dr. on Friday and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. By Saturday night she was running 102+ fever...miserable on Sunday we went back to the doctor on Monday.

On Monday they told us she had the flu, acute bronchitis, and a sinus infection; she moved from the couch to the bed to the bathroom....and that is all she did all week long. She missed the entire week of school. I chose not to go to St. Louis with my MERIT classes because she was so sick. It has been a tough week all around.

March 7

We did a birthday brunch for Lacey's birthday. Bess Toyama, Kaite's roommate last year, contacted me and we concocted the surprise. This is a picture of Bess and Lacey. I especially looked for thick bacon like the girls had while they were in London. They are all Honor's College members who went to London together.

It doesn't seem possible that Momma and Daddy have been gone so long. My mother died March 3, 1979, 31 years ago; Daddy died in 1996, 14 years ago in July.

February 27

The Mississippi University for Women's Theatre Department presented A Midsummer Night's Dream Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights last week. Bekah Guerry and I are standing in front of the sign.

Kaite's friend, Kelsey Sample, did an excellent job as Puck. The costumes were circa the '60's while the dialogue was Elizabethan. The actors really made the words come alive for the audience; the theatre in the round production was a joy to watch from any of the fours sides that surrounded the stage.
